BodyPower Expo 2015

This past weekend I took a little road trip to Birmingham with my friend Hayley and my parents for the BodyPower Expo.

BodyPower is a British consumer fitness exhibition which was started in 2009 and has grown to become a massive event in the UK fitness industry.  Ran over three days at the NEC it covers everything from networking for delegates, education, nutrition and lots of fun events including the USN BodyPower Classic which allows for qualification for the European Olympia!

We travelled down very early on the Saturday morning and my parents dropped us off at the NEC while they went shopping at the Bullring.

This place was absolutely massive and crazily I didn't really get many pictures of the whole weekend but I'll post what I did take below.  All the big supplement companies were there; BSN, PhD, Optimum Nutrition, USN and many more along with clothing and nutrition companies.  Naturally I bought loads what with all the deals going on!

We also got the chance to watch the Junior Men's Physique competition after I bumped into my prep coach who was there working for Elite Fitness Network as one of his friends was competing.

Although Joe didn't place in the top 3 it was great being able to watch a bodybuilding category being judged before my own turn in just one week!

The Hodge Twins at the GymShark booth - I wanted to meet them but the queue was ridiculous!

Hulk Hogan doing a signing!

After the Expo we hopped on a train back in Birmingham and went for a nosy in Victoria's Secret and Forever 21. I feel I was very well restrained (mainly because I had hardly any money left haha!) but got myself some gym goodies from both stores :)

At night we went to Cafe Rouge in Brindlay Place for our dinner. I had my first steak in about 6 weeks with loads of green veggies and salad and even managed to get some lemon sorbet to fit into my macros as a treat for resisting so many samples at the Expo.

It was a flying visit as we left to drive home the following morning after an amazing sleep but I will definitely be returning to Birmingham in the near future to have a proper explore around the city!

  1. Birmingham is on my must-return list, too! Such an unusual city.
